Supporting the growing needs of local community.

KEY STREAMS

Preserving our cultural heritage, imagery, art and environment are important steps in understanding our past and the unique ethnic diversity within our community that shapes our future.

Promoting events, artistic endeavours and tourism within our region helps increase public awareness and employment opportunities for communities in the Wimmera-Mallee.

Protecting our communities also extends to our environment, culture, infrastructure and available job skills within our region and underpins the welfare of our community.

Supporting training programs, education, equality, health, welfare and cultural diveristy ensures our communities can continue to nurture our vibrant regional townships well into the future.

PARTNERSHIPS & MEMBERSHIPS

Safe, Equal and Respectful Communities across the Grampians Region.

The Communities of Respect and Equality Alliance (CoRE) is a partnership of organisations, businesses, clubs, groups and networks from across the Grampians Region that share a vision for safe, equal and respectful communities.

JPS is a proud member of the CoRE Alliance and supports the CoRE Plan for those who believe that by taking positive action to promote change, our communities can be better places in which to live.

The development of the CoRE Plan was led by Women’s Health Grampians (WHG), as part of the Women’s Health Services Leading Regional Action to Prevent Violence against Women and Children Project.

Digital inclusion is key to helping socially disadvantaged people transform their lives.

At JPS, we understand that there are many Australians that do not have the basic digital skills needed to thrive in today’s world. We work hard to bridge the technology divide to enable people become digitally active and equal.

Digitally excluded Australians lack a voice and visibility in today’s modern world and are increasingly disadvantaged as government departments, banking and other business services move to the online world for transaction and communication.

JPS has partnered with BeConnected to help engage people with community-based learning, offering digital skills as part of a package to support an individuals needs.

“The Jeparit Preservation Society and its members acknowledge the Traditional Owner peoples of this land – the Wotjobaluk, Jaadwa, JadawadjaliWergaia and Jupagalk.

We recognise the important and ongoing place that all Wotjobaluk peoples hold in our community. We pay our respects to the Elders, both past and present, and commit to working together in the spirit of mutual understanding and respect for the benefit of the broader community and future generations.”
